City of Arcola City Council met Nov. 4.
Here are the minutes provided by the council:
Mayor Garza called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Members present were Alderpersons Foran, Hensley, Helmuth and Henson. Alderpersons Becerra and Budd were not present. City Administrator Wagoner and Treasurer Anderson were also present.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Alderman Foran led the council and audience in the Pledge of Allegiance.
PUBLIC COMMENT There was none.
APPROVAL OF OCTOBER 21, 2024 COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES Alderman Hensley moved to approve the October 21, 2024 council meeting minutes as presented and was seconded by Alderman Henson. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
APPROVAL OF OCTOBER 19, 2024 THROUGH NOVEMBER 01, 2024 BILLS Alderwoman Helmuth moved to approve the October 19, 2024 – November 01, 2024 bills as presented and was seconded by Alderman Hensley. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
APPROVAL OF THE TREASURER’S REPORT FOR OCTOBER 2024 Alderman Henson moved to approve the Treasurer’s report for October 2024 and was seconded by Alderman Hensley. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
APPROVAL OF THE OCTOBER ZONING OFFICER’S REPORT The Zoning Officer reported 1 permit issued in the month of October for a sign with a fee in amount of $25 collected. Alderman Foran moved to approve the October Zoning Officer’s report as presented and was seconded by Alderman Henson. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
CONSIDER AND APPROVE CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 – LIBMAN TRUCK ROUTE - $24,059.40 Alderman Foran moved to approve Change Order No. 1 – Libman Truck Route in amount of $24,059.40. Alderman Henson seconded the motion. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
CONSIDER AND APPROVE PAY REQUEST NO. 2 – LIBMAN TRUCK ROUTE -- $264,413,43 Alderman Henson moved to approve Pay Request No. 2 – Libman Truck Route in amount of $264,413.43. Alderman Hensley seconded the motion. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
CONSIDER AND APPROVE ORDINANCE NO. 24-S-15, AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE ANNUAL PROPERTY TAX LEVY Alderwoman Helmuth moved to approve Ordinance 24-S-15 establishing the annual property tax levy in amount of $325,000. Alderman Foran seconded the motion. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
CONSIDER AND APPROVE THE ABATEMENT OF TAXES FOR GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS – 2021 SERIES $112,110 Alderman Hensley moved to approve the Abatement of Taxes for General Obligation Bonds –2021 Series in amount of $112,110. Alderman Foran seconded the motion. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
CONSIDER AND APPROVE EASEMENT TO AMEREN ILLINOIS FOR OVERHEAD AND UNDERGROUND ELECTRIC LINES – SOUTH EDGE OF WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT Alderman Henson moved to approve Easement to Ameren Illinois for overhead and underground electric lines – south edge of wastewater treatment plant. Alderwoman Helmuth seconded the motion. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
Alderman Foran Reported the Park, Street & Alley Committee met prior to this meeting and considered and voted to name Moore Park baseball field in memory of Ed Buxton.
Alderman Hensley Had nothing at this time.
Alderwoman Helmuth Had nothing at this time.
Alderman Henson Had nothing at this time.
As this concluded the business of the meeting, Alderman Hensley moved to adjourn and was seconded by Alderman Henson. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
