City of Arcola City Council met July 15.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

In the absence of Mayor Garza, Clerk Turner ask for a motion to elect a mayor pro tem. Alderman moved to elect Alderman Hensley as Mayor Pro Tem for this meeting. Alderman Henson seconded the motion. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.

Mayor Pro Tem Hensley called the meeting to order at 7:01 p.m. Members present were Alderpersons Henson, Becerra, Foran, Hensley and Helmuth. City Administrator Wagoner and Treasurer Anderson were also present. Mayor Garza, Alderman Budd and Attorney Bequette were not present.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Alderman Henson led the council and audience in the Pledge of Allegiance.

PUBLIC COMMENT Adam Kremer of Milano & Grunloh Engineers, LLC gave an update on the Libman Street improvements, MFT – Schrock Drive, DCEO Grant for sanitary sewer improvements, RIPI and Downtown Grant.

APPROVAL OF JULY 01, 2024 COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES Alderman Foran moved to approve the July 01, 2024 council meeting minutes as presented and was seconded by Alderman Becerra. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.

APPROVAL OF JUNE 29, 2024 THROUGH JULY 12, 2024 BILLS Alderwoman Helmuth moved to approve the June 29, 2024 – July 12, 2024 bills as presented and was seconded by Alderman Foran. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.

COMMITTEE REPORTS

Alderman Henson Had nothing at this time.

Alderman Becerra Had nothing at this time.

Alderman Foran Reported the Park, Street and Alley Committee met prior to this meeting and received an update on park projects – OSLAD Grant Application.

Alderman Hensley Had nothing at this time.

Alderwoman Helmuth Had nothing at this time.

As this concluded the business of the meeting, Alderman Becerra moved to adjourn and was seconded by Alderman Foran. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
