The Mattoon and Charleston high school volleyball teams have contributed $2,800 to the Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Foundation to support the Regional Cancer Center. The funds will be used to assist patients who are unable to pay for items needed during chemotherapy or radiation treatment.

The money was raised during the teams' annual ‘Volley for a Cure’ event. Over the years, the teams have donated more than $38,000 to help patients at the SBL Regional Cancer Center since the event began in 2013.

Kim Lockart, SBL Special Events Officer, expressed her appreciation for the ongoing support. “It’s inspiring how much help these local teams have garnered for people receiving treatment at the Regional Cancer Center,” she said. “We’re grateful to have such amazing support from our community.”

For those interested in contributing, the SBL Health Foundation can be contacted at 217-258-2511.
