Sarah Bush Lincoln has received reaccreditation with distinction from the American Nurse Credentialing Center’s Practice Transition Accreditation Program (PTAP). The PTAP standard is recognized for promoting excellence in nurse residency programs, particularly those that help new graduates transition from student to registered professional nurse.

“Our program is a one-year program, and we provide support for these nurses during their first year as a registered nurse at SBL,” said Jan Waymoth, Clinical Education Manager at Sarah Bush Lincoln. “The stories we submitted for this application were gathered from nurse residents in our program during the last four years.”

Sarah Bush Lincoln was first accredited by PTAP in 2021. For the most recent application, the organization included further documentation to demonstrate what it described as “exemplary and innovative practice.”

“We are honored to earn the accreditation with distinction,” Waymoth said. “We strive to offer excellent training to our nurses in the program, and this distinction shows that we are not only helping student nurses take that next step, but are also preparing them well.”
