Rep. Wilhour has been assigned to several committees in the new House session, including his role as the Republican Spokesperson on the Appropriations – Elementary & Secondary Education Committee. He emphasized his ongoing commitment to fiscal accountability and improving education standards.

"My priorities will continue to be accountability in how we spend other peoples’ money at the state," Rep. Wilhour stated. He expressed particular concern for enhancing reading and math skills among students to prepare them for a competitive job market. Additionally, he highlighted the importance of parental rights in choosing suitable educational programs for their children: "We need to remember to respect the rights of parents to choose which educational program is best for their own children."
