Dolton Mayor Tiffany Henyard and Trustee Andrew Holmes are facing a civil lawsuit filed by a former Dolton and Thornton Township employee, who was also a former Dolton Police officer. The lawsuit accuses Holmes of sexually assaulting the employee during a taxpayer-funded trip to Las Vegas in May 2023.

The allegations include that Holmes drugged the employee, causing her to black out. He is also accused of contacting a Dolton police officer, part of Henyard's security detail, to boast about his actions and sharing video footage of the employee in compromising situations. Furthermore, it is alleged that Holmes admitted to having unprotected sex with the employee.

The plaintiff claims that after reporting the incident to Mayor Henyard, her primary concern was her own reputation rather than addressing the allegations. Subsequently, the plaintiff was placed on unpaid leave and eventually dismissed from her positions in both Dolton and Thornton Township. The police officer who reported the incident faced termination as well.

The plaintiffs are seeking both actual and punitive damages against Henyard and Holmes.
