In a May 29 Facebook post, gubernatorial candidate Sen Darren Bailey (R-Louisville) invited constituents to sign up for an election integrity task force.

"Friends, it's important that we ensure election integrity. The best way we can do that is having trained poll watchers. Please sign up to join our Election Integrity Task Force. We have some great volunteers who will train you and ensure you can be successful in help secure our elections," Bailey posted.

Bailey said more information on the task force can be found on his website.

Bailey has proposed an annual purging of voter rolls, individual tracking of mail-in ballots, a random 1% audit of voter signatures and ballots for every election, and mandatory voter ID while allowing free IDs for those who do not already have a driver's license or state ID.

Last year, he pushed for legislation to ensure election integrity as the DuPage County voter tallies were audited. After former DuPage County Auditor Bob Grogan lost his bid for re-election, Grogan claimed there are irregularities with vote tallies and was granted a recount. Grogan had ended Election Day as the race's winner, but in subsequent days, vote uploads by a Democratic clerk of court overturned the race in favor of his opponent Bill White by only 75 votes. The audit ruled in favor of White.
