Eastern Illinois University issued the following announcement on July 13
Eastern Illinois University’s Board of Trustees will hold a special meeting at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 15, 2021. This meeting is open to the public and will be hosted remotely in accordance with the Illinois Open Meetings Act as temporarily amended by the Governor’s Disaster Proclamation of June 25, 2021 (section 12).
The meeting is being scheduled to request Board approval for use of an external search firm for purposes of assisting the university in its hiring of a Chief of University Police Department. The meeting will be conducted via Zoom and broadcast to the public by livestream on YouTube; the web address for the broadcast is https://www.eiu.edu/trustees/online-meeting.php.
Per the Board of Trustees regulations, any person desiring to address the Board shall contact the Board Secretary (atedwards@eiu.edu) prior to the beginning of the Board meeting and provide their name and the subject of their comments.
