City of Marshall issued the following announcement on Aug. 28.
City of Marshall will be Oil and Chipping City Streets Wednesday September 2nd and Thursday September 3rd. This application is done by spraying oil on the street and covering the oil with chipped gravel. During these projects the streets will be closed for approximately 30-60 minutes. Workers will coordinate with residents, so vehicles are permitted to pass. Please avoid these areas if possible.
If anyone at your residence parks a vehicle on the street, please move the vehicle(s) off the street beginning September 1st until the work is complete.
The following streets are scheduled for Wednesday and/or Thursday. (Streets are listed in RED on map)
• Aspen, Linden and Wood Street
• Beech from 7th to 2nd street
• Cypress from 6th to IL-1
• Edgewood, June, Ellen Street
• 4th Street from Locust to Vine Street
• 5th Street from Vine to Myrtle Street
• Locust Street 11th to 13th
• 13th Street from Archer Avenue to Maple Street
• Park Avenue
• Magnolia, Redwood, Palm, Myrtle Street
• Marlon Street
• 8th Street North of Sycamore Street
• 8th Street Maple to Michigan Avenue
• 9th Street Maple to Sycamore Street
• 11th Street Vine to Sycamore Street
