Q4 2019 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Coles County?

There were 19 offenders released on parole during the fourth quarter of 2019 that live in Coles County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by East Central Reporter.

The data shows that 16 men and three women were released in Coles County. The median age of the parolees was 33. The youngest parolee was a 25-year-old man sentenced for a crime against a person in 2019, and the oldest was a 51-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving alcohol in 2018.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Robert E. McCauley. He was convicted of a crime involving drugs in 2014 when he was 43 years old. He is now 49.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
