City of Marshall issued the following announcement on July 12.
The City of Marshall has applications available for 3 grant opportunities, May 1 to April 31, 2020 or until the appropriated amount is gone.
The Revitalization grant is designed for any property owner who demolishes an existing structure or clears a burnt structure. The structure needs to be cleared of debris, leveled and seeded and/or replaced. If approved by the City of Marshall Economic Development Committee, the grant will provide 50% of labor/waste disposal fees for any demolition up to a maximum of $2000 or $500 to rehabilitate a structure that is causing a health hazard.
The New Construction Grant is designed for new construction within city limits in the City of Marshall. The incentive provides up to $2500 for new construction of a business. This grant is for a 30” culvert and backfill, electric meter box fees, water meter fees, sewer tap fees and gas tap fees and meter fees. The fee will be rebated by way of a grant as approved by the City of Marshall Economic Development Committee.
The Utility Grant is designed for businesses. The $1200 grant can be applied to the business applicant’s utility account and must be a new business or existing business expansion with job creation.
Detailed information on each grant is included in the application package. All applications must be submitted before any work begins and are subject to inspections. All documentation is to be submitted to City Hall.
