City of Casey issued the following announcement on May 23.
First: You will be receiving a survey in the mail soon - PLEASE complete these and send them back.
The surveys are for YOUR benefit! We are applying for a grant that will give qualified homeowners MONEY to fix their homes.
There is a letter explaining the grant, a survey, and return envelope enclosed.
If we do not get responses, we do not get money to pass on to you.
Second: The Chamber of Commerce Crazy Casey Day is fast approaching (June 15th) this is also the day of CITY WIDE YARD SALES. If you are wanting to have a yard sale this day YOU MUST CONTACT the City of Casey Police Department and give them your information to register by JUNE 12th. Their number is 217-932-2800. Once registered, the yard sale list will be given to the Chamber and they will publish a map.
Third: CITY WIDE CLEANUP
Th City of Casey will supply FREE DUMPSTERS Saturday, June 8th through Saturday, June 15th
Hours will be from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday-Friday and 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00-4:00 p.m. Saturdays
The following guidelines apply:
•Dumpsters will be located at the City’s utility building on S.E. 8th Street. City employees will supervise.
•This service is for Casey utility customers only; A utility bill and a photo ID may be required.
•Customers must bring their refuse to the Utility Building during collection hours and dispose of it in the dumpster. No dumpster diving will be allowed.
•Two cubic yard limit on construction materials.
•No large appliances, electronic items or air conditioners.
•Commercial dumping is prohibited.
•Also prohibited are automotive parts/components, tires, liquids, paint/paint containers, batteries, burnt material, yard/landscape waste and hazardous materials.
Senior citizens 65 years or older, and the disabled may call the Utilities Department at (217) 330-5509 for assistance in loading and hauling off property.
