City of Neoga issued the following announcement on Jan. 11.
With the predicted weather coming this weekend, we wanted to update you on a few things. Our employees will be out working on the streets; however, it will take time to get to every street so please be patient. They will be working on the main streets first, and when they have time, they will plow the side streets. This will take time to clear each street. Please check your street to be sure all vehicles and/or trailers are off the roadway and the side of the street. Other reminders:
*make sure you have enough water and food for the entire weekend so that you don't have to get out.
*keep your pets safe and warm
* use caution if you are out driving on the streets
* if you are shoveling, dress warm and take breaks
DO NOT OVER DO IT!
*if you have extra food, blankets, or are willing to help should we have any stranded people off the interstate, please contact the city building at 217/895-3237.
*also if you have equipment (big or small) to move snow, please contact us as well.
* make sure you have a good book or movies to watch. The library has a great selection.
Now let's all pray this little girl named "Gia" moves around us and we can enjoy just a little winter snow that forces us to stay inside and enjoy the family time but is gone before she causes any problems!
