HSHS Good Shepherd Hospital issued the following announcement on June 14.
Please join HSHS Good Shepherd Hospital colleagues on Tuesday, July 3 at 10 a.m. for the second annual ceremony to honor our nation in prayer. The ceremony will be held on the east side of the hospital campus grounds next to the chapel entrance and peace garden on 200 S. Cedar Street.
The Shelby County Honor Guard will present the nation’s colors. Pastor Andy Sonneborn from the First Church will lead the in prayer, and Pastor Don Jeffries from the First Assembly of God Church will offer a blessing. The crowd will be asked to recite the Pledge of Allegiance and patriotic reading.
As a special gift to those who attend, HSHS Good Shepherd Hospital will hand out flags. This ceremony will be brief and hold a message of hope for our nation. Attendees are invited to stand or bring a lawn chair for the service.
