Report: Altamont spent $9,051 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Altamont Community Unit School District 10 is up 7 percent from five years ago, according to a East Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Effingham County school district spent $8,421 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $9,051 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 765 to 711.

Altamont's spending in 2016-17 was 30 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
