Arcola School District 306 board to meet, review contractor presentations

The Arcola School District 306 board will review contractor presentations at its upcoming meeting.

The Arcola School District 306 board will review contractor presentations at its upcoming meeting.

The building committee of Arcola School District 306’s board of education will meet at 5:15 p.m. March 21 at the Arcola High School Library to address current contracts and proposals.

Four different contracting presentations are scheduled, followed by a board discussion on the proposals, from McKinstry, Ameresco, Johnson Controls and CTS.

McKinstry specializes in performance contracting for energy savings; Johnson Controls handles HVAC equipment for buildings; and CTS provides energy-saving solutions for facilities.

Ameresco is a Chicago-based contractor specializing in major energy and infrastructure improvements, renewable energy resources and management services that has previously partnered with Illinois school systems.

During the communications portion of the meeting, the committee will invite members of the audience to speak who wish to bring up comments, questions or suggestions not included on the agenda. Speakers will be asked to limit remarks to five minutes each.

Arcola School District 306 comprises Arcola Elementary School and Arcola Junior-Senior High School, both located at 351 W. Washington St. The Arcola education board prides itself on maintaining an innovative school district preparing students for the 21st century while embracing a traditional, small-school culture. The school district office employs two full-time staffers.
