State Representative Brad Halbrook has introduced a resolution to designate September 12, 2025, as The Day of the Bible in Illinois. House Resolution 474 urges schools, churches, and civic groups across the state to recognize the historical and moral influence of the Bible.

“This is about reaffirming the values that built America,” said Halbrook. He added, “The Bible has served as a profound influence on both our state and nation since their foundings. The Bible not only serves as a spiritual guide, but a moral guide, helping to shape many of our core American values. In recognizing the Bible’s role in our nation and state’s heritage, we are reaffirming the importance of faith and religion. I encourage all Illinoisans to join me in commemorating September 12th as The Day of the Bible here in Illinois.”

The resolution encourages educational and cultural programs that highlight the significance of the Bible throughout Illinois' history.

Halbrook was elected as a Republican to represent Illinois’ 107th House District in 2023, succeeding Blaine Wilhour.
