City of Arcola City Council met Aug. 18.
Here are the minutes provided by the council:
Mayor Garza called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Members present were Alderpersons Moreno, Budd, Foran, Hensley and Helmuth. City Administrator Wagoner and Treasurer Anderson were also present. Alderman Henson and Attorney Petty were not present.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Alderman Moreno led the council and audience in the Pledge of Allegiance.
PUBLIC COMMENT Adam Kremer of Milano & Grunloh Engineers, LLC gave an update on the Libman Street improvements; DCEO Grant for sanitary sewer improvements; RIPI; Downtown Grant; State Legislative Grant (Arcola Center); Tank Mixers and Bob King Drive & Egyptian Trail.
APPROVAL OF AUGUST 04, 2025 COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES Alderwoman Helmuth moved to approve the August 04, 2025 council meeting minutes as presented and was seconded by Alderman Foran. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
APPROVAL OF AUGUST 02, 2025 THROUGH AUGUST 15, 2025 BILLS Alderman Hensley moved to approve the August 02, 2025 – August 15, 2025 bills as presented and was seconded by Alderman Moreno. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
REPORT FROM THE TIF ADVISORY COMMITTEE The TIF Advisory Committee met August 04th reviewed and recommended the council approve a request from BSPGMPHolding LLC, Main Street Gaming & Lounge for a Storefront Rebate of the TIF eligible expenses for the improvements to 126 E. Main Street.
Alderman Foran moved to accept the recommendation of the TIF Advisory Committee and was seconded by Alderman Budd. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
Alderman Moreno Had nothing at this time.
Alderman Budd Had nothing at this time.
Alderman Foran Reported the Park, Street & Alley Committee met prior to this meeting and received an update from CA Wagoner on projects, park survey and
OSLAD application.
Alderman Hensley Had nothing at this time.
Alderwoman Helmuth Had nothing at this time.
As this concluded the business of the meeting, Alderman Hensley moved to adjourn and was seconded by Alderman Moreno. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
