Adam Niemerg, a representative for Illinois State House District 102, said Nicole Georgas, the mother of a girl who was reportedly forced to change in front of a biological male at school, joined him at the Capitol "to call out her own state rep. for saying her daughter is a liar." This comment was made in a Facebook post on March 20.
"This morning, Deerfield mom, Nicole Georgas, joined us at the State Capitol to call out her own state rep for saying her daughter is a liar after claiming that school administrators attempted to force her 13-year-old daughter to change in front of a biological male student in the girl's locker room last month," said Niemerg, State Representative, according to Facebook.
According to Niemerg, he joined a press conference with members of the Illinois Freedom Caucus, Deerfield parent Nicole Georgas and her daughter, and Awake Illinois President Shannon Adcock. During his remarks, Niemerg accused Rep. Bob Morgan (D) of defaming him as a state representative after discussing the February incident at Shepard Middle School in Deerfield. He claimed Morgan said Niemerg’s constituents did not want him in office and that Georgas’ daughter was lying about the incident. Niemerg expressed gratitude to Nicole for filing a federal lawsuit and to her daughter for sharing her story, emphasizing that this issue extends beyond Illinois and is of national concern.

Fox News reported that on March 19, Rep. Bob Morgan (D), representing the Deerfield area, expressed pride in community members who defended those in need and ensured schools remain supportive environments. He called the claims regarding the incident false. The news station also highlighted an X post from Georgas responding to video footage of Morgan’s speech on the House floor. In her response, she questioned if Morgan's daughter had been present during the incident and criticized him as "disgusting" and "despicable," expressing her intent to play audio of the February incident for him.
ABC7 reported that the school district addressed the situation with a statement on its website clarifying that no student is required to change into a gym uniform for physical education class in front of others.
Niemerg was first elected in 2020 and describes himself as a "fiscal conservative focused on reducing taxes and fighting for limited government and pension reform," according to his official biography. He works as a senior claims adjuster with Country Financial and holds a bachelor’s degree from Eastern Illinois University.
