FOIA Request to Clark County Election Division Regarding Upcoming Election Candidates on February 5, 2025.
In our continuous effort to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at East Central Reporter have sent a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the Clark County Election Division. The request was sent on February 5, 2025, seeking detailed information about all candidates running in the upcoming election.
The requested information includes each candidate's first, middle, and last names; the office they are running for; the jurisdiction of that office; and their party affiliation. We also asked for all available contact information for each candidate, including their address, phone number, and email address.
As a media organization dedicated to transparency and holding public institutions accountable, we believe access to these public records is essential in fulfilling our professional responsibilities. Given our role in disseminating information to the public, we have requested a fee waiver as media professionals under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act.
