A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was submitted to the Clark County Clerk on January 14, 2025, by us at East Central Reporter. The request pertains to the upcoming 2025 Consolidated Elections.
We are seeking a comprehensive list of candidates running for office in these elections. The information requested includes each candidate's name, the date they filed their candidacy, and the specific office they are running for.
As a media organization committed to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we believe that access to public records is crucial in fulfilling our professional responsibilities. These include holding public institutions accountable and ensuring transparency for the public.
Given our role in disseminating information to the public, we have requested a fee waiver as a media professional under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, 5 ILCS 140.
