The Shelby County Dive Team Forensic Audit drafts have reportedly been provided to the county. However, confirmation from either the current or past board chairman remains elusive.

As of now, the audit report has not been scheduled for discussion in any meetings. Chairman Mayhall has not responded to inquiries regarding when it will be addressed.

The drafts allegedly contain notable findings. There is concern that some might attempt to justify these findings rather than acknowledge and address existing issues.

A former State’s Attorney's report included both dive team-related information and other county matters, which was presented to previous County Board Chairman Bobby Orman. The auditor received this report, which raised concerns about financial reporting obligations that should not be ignored. It seems all points from the report were shared instead of only relevant items.

Among points of interest are questions about why an auditor would need a roster, highlighted by two specific notes in one of the reports.

Efforts to confirm whether the drafts given to the county match those discussed have been unsuccessful. Speculation arises due to Dive Team Commander Austin Prichard also being a member of the County Board’s Audit Committee.

There is hope that these drafts will be placed on the agenda and discussed publicly so that full transparency can be achieved.

Drafts can be accessed via provided links or viewed below.
