Adam Niemerg, representative for Illinois House District 102, has announced his reelection campaign. He said his commitment to unfinished work and representing the values of Illinois residents.

"I'm excited to officially announce my re-election campaign for State Representative," said Adam M. Niemerg, State Representative for 102nd District (R). "It's been an honor to serve, and I'm committed to continuing the work of bringing common sense to Springfield and standing up for the values we all believe in. Thank you for your continued support—I'm looking forward to what we can accomplish together."

Niemerg was first elected in 2022 and assumed office on January 11, 2023. According to Ballotpedia, he ran for reelection in 2024 and won the general election in November. In the March 2024 primary, he defeated write-in candidates James Acklin and Edward Blade with 85.4% of the vote. During the 2023-2024 legislative session, Niemerg served on several committees, including Appropriations–General Service; Cybersecurity, Data Analytics and IT; Health Care Availability and Accessibility; Housing; Insurance; and Labor and Commerce. He served on the same committees during the 2021-2022 session.

According to his campaign website, Niemerg’s platform focuses on pension reform, pro-life legislation, Second Amendment rights for Illinois residents, and supporting small business growth in Southern Illinois. To help small businesses, he pledges to promote business development, reduce income tax burdens, and lower the state income tax to encourage sustainable job growth and future revenue. His pension reform plan aims to give state pension recipients more control over their benefits while reducing the tax burden on Illinois taxpayers.

Regarding his 2024 election win, Niemerg thanked voters for writing in his name as a candidate. "Voters understood what was at stake in this election. They stood with me because they did not want the far-left activists who were funding my opponents’ campaign to gain more power," said Niemerg in a report from My Radio Link. "This was a decisive victory for the grassroots, conservative movement I, along with several of my colleagues in the House, have been building. The fact that they went to the polls and wrote my name in means a lot."

Niemerg has served in the Illinois General Assembly since January 2021 and lives in Dieterich with his wife and children. When not in Springfield, he is a senior claims adjuster with Country Financial and is a member of the Farm Bureau.
