FOIA Request to City of Villa Grove Regarding Building Permits on October 30, 2024.
In our ongoing commitment to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at East Central Reporter have submitted a request for records under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act. The request was sent to the City of Villa Grove and seeks information about both new and active residential and commercial building permits issued from January 1, 2023, till today's date.
Specifically, we are seeking a list of all new residential and commercial building permits with details such as the type of permit, date issued, fee paid, requester's name, address, and contractor name. Additionally, we have requested a list of all active residential and commercial building permits along with their current status. This list also includes the same details as mentioned above.
As a media organization dedicated to transparency in public institutions and holding them accountable, access to these public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities.
