FOIA Request to City Of Newton Regarding Building Permits on October 30, 2024.
We at East Central Reporter, a media organization dedicated to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, have requested specific records under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act. Our request includes a list of all new residential and commercial building permits issued from January 1, 2023, up until the present date. The information we are seeking includes the type of permit, date issued, fee paid, requester's name, address, and contractor's name.
In addition to this, we have also requested a list of all active residential and commercial building permits along with their current status. This information is vital for us as it allows us to provide transparency to the public and hold public institutions accountable. As a media organization involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, access to these public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities.
