The Del Galdo Law Group, LLC, representing the Village of Dolton, has filed a motion to withdraw from a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit. The motion cites Supreme Court Rule 1.16(a)(6), which allows withdrawal if representation results in an unreasonable financial burden or becomes unreasonably difficult due to the client.

The specifics of why the law group is seeking to withdraw remain unclear. Questions arise about whether Mayor Tiffany Henyard has refused to pay legal fees associated with multiple FOIA lawsuits or if compliance demands have been deemed excessively challenging by the legal team.

Included in the motion is a request for more time to respond to one of the FOIA lawsuits. The ongoing negative publicity surrounding Mayor Henyard could pose challenges for the Village in securing new legal representation.

Updates on this case will be provided as it progresses through the court system.
