State Representative Adam Niemerg (R-Dieterich) is set to host a telephone town hall event alongside State Rep. Blaine Wilhour on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, starting at 6:00 PM. The primary focus of the town hall will be to provide a recap of the recent legislative session and discuss the state budget for Fiscal Year (FY) 2025.

“With such a large district, my telephone town halls make it easy for people to participate and give me their opinions and feedback directly on the issues that affect their families and businesses,” said Rep. Niemerg, who serves on the Appropriations – General Services Committee. “The joint town hall with Rep. Wilhour in the neighboring district allows for both of us to reach more constituents with similar concerns and interests such as agricultural topics, economic development, and defending constitutional rights.”

Niemerg highlighted that nearly 12,000 pieces of legislation were filed during the 103rd General Assembly (2023-24), with over 450 bills currently awaiting the Governor's signature. Should any of these bills be vetoed, they will return to the General Assembly in the Fall Veto Session for potential overrides.

“All of the issues that come up in the General Assembly impact the people of Illinois, from public safety to taxes,” added Rep. Niemerg. “I always ask who does it help, and who does it hurt when a policy change comes up, and especially consider if it is something the taxpayers of Illinois can afford. I encourage everyone to join me on June 12 at 6:00 p.m. by calling 217-336-5711.”

For further information, constituents can contact Niemerg’s district office at 217-813-3063 or visit his website at RepNiemerg.com.
