Arcola Community Unit School District 306 Board of Education met March 25.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

A special meeting of the Board of Education of Arcola Community Unit District #306 Arcola, Illinois was called to order in the High School Library at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, March 25, 2024 for the purpose of annual planning.

President L. Shonkwiler called the meeting to order. The following members answered roll call: J Shonkwiler, Stout, L. Shonkwiler, Myers, Wise, and Conlin.

Others present were: Tom Mulligan, Nick Lindsey, Megan Clark, Kyle Shay and Dave Porter. 

Pledge of Allegiance

President L. Shonkwiler recognized the visitors and asked for public comment.

Dr. Mulligan and the administrative team provided information and handouts for several key planning areas for the district. Those areas included the administrative team vision and purpose statement, bilingual education including information on dual language, response to intervention and special education at Arcola Elementary School, weight room and athletic development, and college and career readiness updates.

Announcements:

Motion by Wise, seconded by Myers, to adjourn at 8:32 p.m. Roll call vote: J Shonkwiler, aye; Stout, aye; L. Shonkwiler, aye; Myers, aye; Leyva-Sanchez, aye; Wise, aye; Conlin, aye. 6 ayes. 0 nays. Motion carried.
