Representative Niemerg commended two local products for advancing to the 'Sweet 16' round of the "Coolest Thing Made in Illinois" competition. The Driver Assist System – 100 Degree Camera from ZF-Marshall and Mullen’s Imitation French Dressing from Palestine were among the top contenders in the competition.
The annual "Makers Madness" contest, hosted by the Illinois Manufacturers’ Association, saw over 122,000 votes cast, leading to the selection of the Top 16 products. The competition operates in a bracket-style format where voters from across the state determine the ultimate winner of The Coolest Thing Made in Illinois.
In Bracket B, Mullen’s Imitation French Dressing from Palestine will be facing off against Nature Valley Bars from General Mills. Meanwhile, in Bracket C, the Driver Assist System – 100 Degree Camera from ZF-Marshall will be competing against ActivWall from Aurora Storage Products Inc.
Niemerg encouraged the public to participate in the voting process to show support for the local companies and their innovative products. The timeline of events for the competition includes various rounds of voting, with the final winner of The Coolest Thing Made in Illinois set to be announced on April 10.
