In a resolute response to his triumph in the primary elections, State Representative Blaine Wilhour (R-Beecher City) delivered a staunch message about "far-left teachers’ unions" in an official statement.

"The far-left teachers’ unions put hundreds of thousands of dollars up against me to try to silence and intimidate me," said Wilhour. "Well, there was a message sent and it was not exactly the one my opponents wanted. Voters put the influence peddlers and political insiders on notice that the money they put behind their hand-picked candidates is toxic. I won by a landslide. Now I am sending a message to the far-left activists who tried to defeat me – I will not be silenced, and I will continue to fight for the values of my district.”

Wilhour's resounding victory over union-backed challenger Matt Hall for the 110th District seat saw him secure an impressive 78% of the vote, with Hall trailing at 21% as most of the votes were tallied.

This victory reaffirms Wilhour's standing in the 110th House District, marking his return to Springfield after successfully defending against a primary challenge supported by unions, solidifying his position for the upcoming legislative term.

Wilhour is a member of the Illinois Freedom Caucus along with State Representatives Chris Miller (D-Oakland), David Friess (R-District 115), Adam Niemerg (R-Dieterich), Jed Davis (R-Newark), Brad Halbrook (R-Shelbyville) and Dan Caulkins (R-Decatur).
