ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS

Principal PK-8 Report – Morgan Wilhoit

  • Handbooks have been completed. Questions? Choose which PK-12 Handbook to use.
  • Moving toward a cohesive behavior system for all of PK-8. Teachers are on board and we will be doing punch cards for all students. If they are following the expectations (be prepared, be respectful, follow adult directions, be where you need to be, and use kind words and actions), they will get their card hole punched. When their card has all the hole punches filled, they will get a prize.
  • Posters will be placed around the hallways on our end. All the teachers at the end of the year were really grateful to be working on something that would be streamlined throughout our whole end of the building.
  • We will start a "Student of the Week" one for PK-5 and one for 6-8. Their picture and a little about them will be on my bulletin board in the hallway by my office.
  • One side of the locker room storage has been cleaned out.
Data-Driven Planning:

  • IAR data shows huge improvements in elementary math. Over half of students partially met, fully met, or exceeded expectations in ELA across the board 3-8th grades.
  • We will continue to work on Eureka math because of this growth. JH will begin Eureka math in 6th grade and continue the roll out with Eureka in 7th & 8th over the next few years to continue the increase in the scores.
  • Professional development will be provided for ELA once per month next year to continue improvements of those scores.
  • PK-5 Scored "Very Strong" in Effective Leader category on the 5-Essentials Survey from parents, students, and staff. All other areas (family involvement, school environment, collaborative teachers, and ambitious instruction) were neutral. The rest of my results were joined in the 6-12 category. That will be different for the 23-24 school year and data will be separated as administrators are separated.
  • The one area that I noted as a weak area is student behavior. This correlates to what I noticed and my goals with discipline for next year.
  • Some colleagues at Indiana State have shared ideas for work with collaborative teachers and ambitious instruction that I plan to use as well for next year.
  • All plans and reports have been submitted to the Regional Office and State as needed so far this summer.
  • Currently working on school safety research and threat assessment revisions.
Principal 9-12 Report – Amy Jones

  • Summer tutoring has begun for grades 9-11 for math
  • 5 essential survey results
  • Handbooks for students and staff have been updated.
  • Course description handbook also has been updated. Adding more elective courses this year with dual credit and CTE
  • Megan Pierce has been updating classes in teacherease and completing class schedules for the students ready in the fall.
  • Mrs. Ennis took 8 students to the FFA State Convention June 13-15 in Springfield
  • Ms. Hendrix will be going to the National Leadership Conference in Denver CO first week in July with 2 students/officers
  • Online registration is open online for returning students; new students will be able to register July 28 in person here at the school.
