U.S. Rep. Mary Miler (R-IL) is calling for the impeachment of President Joe Biden after a groundbreaking report from the New York Post put him in the crosshairs of the so-called “Biden influence operation” run by son Hunter Biden.
The news contrasts greatly with what Biden has claimed his relationship was with his son’s business interests in Ukraine, China ad elsewhere.
“Joe Biden lied. He was heavily involved in his family's foreign ‘cash for favors’ operation. The House must begin IMPEACHMENT investigation to protect the US government from corruption,” Miller said on Facebook. “The FBI, DOJ, and 'press' are ok with 10% FOR THE BIG GUY from China, Russia & Ukraine?”
The New York Post reports testimony before Congress reveals that Hunter Biden involved his then-Vice President father, Joe Biden, in his overseas business dealings, dialing him into meetings with business associates via speakerphone, raising questions about potential influence peddling and investigations into corruption allegations. Several meetings with foreign partners were witnessed, including one with a Ukrainian energy company, Burisma, which had ties to Joe Biden's work in Ukraine. Congressional investigators are looking into the reasons behind these meetings and their potential implications on the elder Biden's actions as Vice President. The allegations have been brought forth by former Hunter Biden associate Devon Archer. The 48-year-old Archer is facing jail time for an unrelated fraud case. He is set to testify in front of the House Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government.
“We are looking forward very much to hearing from Devon Archer about all the times he has witnessed Joe Biden meeting with Hunter Biden’s overseas business partners when he was vice president, including on speakerphone,” Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.), the committee chairman said, according to the New York Post.
Meanwhile, Hunter Biden is set to plead guilty in a federal plea related to millions he reaped from the operation as well as a federal gun charge, according to AP News. Biden agreed to a plea deal to two tax crimes and gun possession as a drug user, in a deal with the Justice Department likely to result in two years of probation, sparing him time behind bars. The accusations of unfair influence in Hunter Biden’s case have led some to suggest U.S. District Court Judge Maryellen Noreika, a Trump appointee, who must sign off on the plea deal, may decide to hold off on finalizing the plea given the nature of the process. The deal comes after a long-running investigation on Hunter Biden, who has acknowledged struggling with addiction following the 2015 death of his brother, Beau Biden.
Multiple whistleblowers in the FBI and IRS have come forward to condemn the plea which many critics are saying was a “sweetheart” deal. The whistleblowers have sought to expose corruption within the Department of Justice and have said the younger Biden was treated very differently than others facing similar federal charges. The deviation included a phone call to Hunter Biden’s legal team prior to a search of his property. The New York Post stated that the "Justice Department fumbling has already let Hunter escape justice for several years of tax crimes."
Through Hunter, Joe Biden is alleged by an FBI whistleblower to have taken a $5 million bribe from Ukraine, according to the New York Post. A Ukrainian businessman, who allegedly paid off President Biden and his son Hunter Biden, claimed to possess 15 audio recordings of phone calls with Hunter and two with Joe Biden. These recordings were purportedly kept as "insurance" in case the businessman encountered difficulties. The FBI's handling of the bribery allegation against the Bidens has been criticized, suggesting a lack of focus compared to how the FBI investigated former president Donald Trump.
