City of Martinsville City Council met Feb. 23.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

*The meeting was called to order by Mayor Davidson. Alderman. All in attendance recited the “Pledge of Allegiance.” Roll call was answered by the following council members and elected officials: Chris Perry, John Skinner, and Troy Propst. Chris Davidson, Melinda Lovell, and Preston Rukes were absent. Also, in attendance were Mayor Herman Davidson, Clerk Jana Akers, and Attorney Richard Bernardoni. Employees and citizens in attendance are attached to the back of the minutes.

PUBLIC COMMENTS:

-Motion by T Propst 2nd by C Perry for approval of February 9th Minutes

Upon roll call vote all alderman present voted for the motion (3)

-Motion by T Propst 2nd by C Perry to Connor & Connor the amount of $16,131.14 for design and management of the new water tower

Upon roll call vote all alderman present voted for the motion (3)

-Motion by J Skinner 2nd by T Propst to pay Maquire Iron pay estimate #3 in the amount of $54,000

Upon roll call vote all alderman present voted for the motion (3)

-Motion by C Perry 2nd by T Propst on approval of Ordinace2022-2-1 entitled “Ordinance to Approve the editing & inclusion of certain ordinances of various components codes of the codified ordinances.”

Upon roll call vote all alderman present voted for the motion (3)

-Motion by J Skinner 2nd by C Perry on approval of MOGA donation of $500

Upon roll call vote all alderman present voted for the motion (3)

-Motion by T Propst 2nd by J Skinner on approval of request from gas department to purchase equipment needed in the amount of $1,385.15

Upon roll call vote all alderman present voted for the motion (3)

-Motion by C Perry 2nd by T Propst to adjourn council meeting at 7:11pm
