Arcola City Council Met Jan. 18.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

Mayor Ferguson called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Members present in council chambers were Alderpersons Hensley, Ferguson, Budd, Foran, Huckstep, City Administrator Wagoner and Attorney Bequette. Present virtually were Alderperson Smith and Treasurer Anderson.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Alderman Hensley led the council and audience in the Pledge of Allegiance.

PUBLIC COMMENT There was none.

APPROVAL OF DECEMBER 21, 2020 COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES

Alderman Hensley moved to approve the December 21, 2020 council meeting minutes as presented and was seconded by Alderwoman Ferguson. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.

APPROVAL OF DECEMBER 19, 2020 – JANUARY 15, 2021 BILLS Alderwoman Huckstep moved to approve the December 19, 2020 – January 15, 2021 bills as presented and was seconded by Alderman Foran. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.

APPROVAL OF THE TREASURER’S REPORT FOR DECEMBER 2020

Alderman Foran moved to approve the Treasurer’s report for December 2020 and was secondedby Alderman Budd. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.

APPROVAL OF THE DECEMBER ZONING OFFICER’S REPORT The Zoning Officer reported 2 permits issued in the month of December with valuation of $193,725 and $275 in fees collected. Alderman Foran moved to approve the December Zoning Officer’s report aspresented and was seconded by Alderwoman Ferguson. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.

RATIFY AGREEMENT WITH COLES COUNTY REGIONAL PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION – GRANT ADMINISTRATION Alderman Foran moved to ratify agreement with Coles County Regional Planning and Development Commission – Grant Administration. Alderman Budd seconded the motion. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.

CONSIDER AND APPROVE PROPOSAL FOR DEMOLITION OF THE METROPOLITAN BLOCK Alderman Hensley moved to approve alternate proposal submitted by Earth Services in amount of $179,700. Alderman Foran seconded the motion. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.

CONSIDER AND APPROVE PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION OF A PUMP FOR THE SADORUS BOOSTER STATION AS RECOMMENDED BY THE ARCOLA –TUSCOLA WATER AGENCY Alderman Foran moved to approve purchase and installation of a pump for the Sadorus Booster Station as recommended by the Arcola-Tuscola Water Agency. Alderwoman Ferguson seconded the motion. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
