Arcola City Council met Oct. 5.
Here is the agenda provided by the council:
Mayor Ferguson called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Members present were Alderpersons Smith, Hensley, Ferguson, Budd, Huckstep and Treasurer Anderson. Alderman Foran, City Administrator Wagoner and Attorney Bequette were not present.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Alderman Smith led the council and audience in the Pledge of Allegiance.
PUBLIC COMMENT There was none.
APPROVAL OF SEPTEMBER 21, 2020 COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES Alderman Smith moved to approve the September 21, 2020 council meeting minutes as presented and was seconded by Alderman Budd. Roll call vote, Smith, aye; Hensley, aye; Ferguson, abstain; Budd, aye; Huckstep, aye. Motion carried.
APPROVAL OF SEPTEMBER 19, 2020 THROUGH OCTOBER 02, 2020 BILLS Alderwoman Huckstep moved to approve the September 19, 2020 through October 02, 2020 bills as presented and was seconded by Alderman Hensley. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
APPROVAL OF THE TREASURER’S REPORT FOR SEPTEMBER 2020 Alderman Smith moved to approve the Treasurer’s report for September 2020 and was seconded by Alderwoman Ferguson. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
APPROVAL OF THE SEPTEMBER ZONING OFFICER’S REPORT The Zoning Officer reported 1 permit issued in the month of September with valuation of $434,608 and a fee in amount of $1,738.40 collected. Alderwoman Huckstep moved to approve the September Zoning Officer’s report as presented and was seconded by Alderman Hensley. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
REPORT FROM THE TOURISM ADVISORY COMMITTEE The Tourism Advisory Committee recommended the council approve funding requests totaling $10,427.12 made by the Arcola Chamber of Commerce. Alderwoman Huckstep moved to accept the recommendation of the Tourism Advisory Committee and was seconded by Alderman Smith. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
COMMITTEE REPORTS There were no committee reports.
Alderman Budd questioned the progress being made moving tower from Theiman building. Mayor Ferguson responded that they have a building in place and are moving along quite well.
As this concluded the business of the meeting, Alderwoman Huckstep moved to adjourn and was seconded by Alderman Smith. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
