Arcola City Council met Aug. 31.
Here is the minutes provided by the council:
Mayor Ferguson called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. Members present were Alderpersons Huckstep, Smith, Hensley, Budd and Foran. Alderperson Ferguson was not present. City Administrator Wagoner, Treasurer Anderson and Attorney Bequette were also present.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Alderwoman Huckstep led the council and audience in the Pledge of Allegiance.
PUBLIC COMMENT There was none.
CONSIDER AND APPROVE ORDINANCE NO. 20-S-9, 5 YEAR LEASE AGREEMENT WITH MIDWEST FIRST AT 303 EGYPTIAN TRAIL (WASTE WATER TREATMENT PLANT) Alderman Foran moved to approve Ordinance No. 20-S-9 and was seconded by Alderman Smith. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
EXECUTIVE SESSION (5 ILCS 120/2c) Alderman Smith moved to go into executive session to discuss pending litigation and possible land purchase. Alderman Hensley seconded the motion. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
Executive Session at 6:03 p.m.
Resume regular session at 7:27 p.m.
COMMITTEE REPORTS There were no committee reports.
City Administrator Wagoner announced the fireworks will be Sept. 12th at Green Mill Village.
As this concluded the business of the meeting, Alderman Foran moved to adjourn and was seconded by Alderman Smith. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
