Altamont Fire Protection District responded to 26 calls in 2018 - 40.9 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Altamont included 21 fires - 11 structure fires, five vehicle fires and five other fires.

In all, the department saw $209,000 in fire loss - or about $9,952 per fire.

The department also received five false calls.

The Altamont Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $615,550 in 2018.
