Q3 2019 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Shelby County?

There were nine offenders released on parole during the third quarter of 2019 that live in Shelby County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by East Central Reporter.

The data shows that eight men and one woman were released in Shelby County. The median age of the parolees was 36. The youngest parolee was a 23-year-old man sentenced for a property crime in 2018, and the oldest was a 64-year-old man sentenced for a crime against a person in 2019.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Clinton D. Olson. He was convicted of a crime involving drugs in 2015 when he was 21 years old. He is now 26.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the third quarter of 2019 in each Shelby County municipality with at least one parolee in the quarter.
