Oakland home prices rise in 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in 2017 in Oakland rose by $19,000 while total sales increased by 41.2%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through December of 2017, there were 24 homes sold, with a median sale price of $81,000 - a 30.6% increase over the $62,000 median sale price for the previous year. There were 17 homes sold in Oakland in 2016.

The median sales tax in Oakland for 2017 was $1,489. In 2016, the median sales tax was $1,626. This marks an decrease of 8.4%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 1.8%.
