City of Arcola City Council met July 1.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

Mayor Ferguson called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Members present were Alderpersons Budd, Foran, Huckstep, Smith and Hensley. City Administrator Wagoner and Treasurer Anderson were also present. Alderwoman Ferguson and Attorney Bequette were not present.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Alderman Budd led the council and audience in the Pledge of Allegiance.

PUBLIC COMMENT There was none.

APPROVAL OF JUNE 17, 2019 COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES Alderman Smith moved to approve the June 17, 2019 council meeting minutes as presented and was seconded by Alderman Foran. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.

APPROVAL OF JUNE 15, 2019 – JUNE 28, 2019 BILLS Alderwoman Huckstep moved to approve the June 15, 2019 – June 28, 2019 bills as presented and was seconded by Alderman Hensley. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.

APPROVAL OF THE TREASURER’S REPORT FOR JUNE Alderman Smith moved to approve the Treasurer’s report for June and was seconded by Alderman Budd. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.

APPROVAL OF THE JUNE ZONING OFFICER’S REPORT The Zoning Officer reported 3 permits issued in the month of June with valuation of $259,675.00 and fees in amount of $370.70 collected. Alderman Foran moved to approve the Zoning Officer’s report as presented and was seconded by Alderman Hensley. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.

CONSIDER AND APPROVE RESOLUTION NO. 19-R-9, A RESOLUTION REQUESTING TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF A STATE HIGHWAY FOR THE ANNUAL BROOM CORN FESTIVAL PARADE Alderman Foran moved to approve Resolution No. 19-R-9 and was seconded by Alderman Smith. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.

COMMITTEE REPORTS

Alderman Budd Had nothing at this time.

Alderman Foran Stated the City employees did an excellent job cleaning up after strong winds took down several trees Sunday.

Alderwoman Huckstep Reported the fireworks went very well.

Alderman Smith Stated the Chamber and City did a great job with the bicycle tour and the annual car show.

Alderman Hensley Had nothing at this time.

As this concluded the business of the meeting, Alderwoman Huckstep moved to adjourn and was seconded by Alderman Budd. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.

Adjourned at 7:04 p.m.
