Q1 2019 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Effingham County?

There were six offenders released on parole during the first quarter that live in Effingham County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by East Central Reporter.

The data shows that four men and two women were released in Effingham County. The median age of the parolees was 38. The youngest parolee was a 25-year-old man sentenced for a property crime in 2018, and the oldest was a 56-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving alcohol in 2017.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Melly R. Hofer. She was convicted of a crime involving alcohol in 2014 when she was 36 years old. She is now 40.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the first quarter in each Effingham County municipality.
