Q2 2018 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Coles County?

There were 15 offenders released on parole during the second quarter that live in Coles County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by East Central Reporter.

The data shows that all of the released offenders in Coles County were men. Of the parolees, one is a veteran, and the median age is 36. The youngest parolee was a 23-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving alcohol in 2017, and the oldest was a 50-year-old man sentenced for a sex crime in 2014.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Jason Mitchell. He was convicted of a property crime in 2012 when he was 30 years old. He is now 36.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the second quarter in each Coles County municipality.
