Q1 2018 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Lawrence County?

There were eight offenders released on parole during the first quarter that live in Lawrence County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by East Central Reporter.

The data shows that seven men and one woman were released in Lawrence County. Of the parolees, one is a veteran, and the median age is 37. The youngest parolee was a 22-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2017, and the oldest was a 54-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2017.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Mark S. Garner. He was convicted of a sex crime in 2017 when he was 42 years old. He is now 45.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
