CITY OF MARTINSVILLE: “A Spark Of History”Exhibit To Celebrate Clark County’s 200th Birthday And Martinsville’s History

City of Martinsville issued the following announcement on March 27.

In conjunction with Clark County’s 200th birthday in March. Martinsville will have a celebration from noon to 5pm on Sunday, March 31st. The Martinsville Community Center

will be transformed into a museum to share the “A Spark of History” exhibit. A wide variety of historical memorabilia is expected to be on display. The “Spark of History "exhibits

will tell the stories of our historic lifestyles and area development through artifacts, photos

and mementos. The focus will be on local businesses, schools, churches, industries, transportation and more. For those who grew up in the area, or have lived in the community for

several years, the event will spark many treasured memories. “A Spark of History” will be

free to the public, so bring the entire family for the celebration. Refreshments will be

served as well.

Your participation can help make this event a success, so check your closets for interesting

items for display. Exhibitor Forms are available at the Library or you can contact Joyce

Bishop at 217-276-6676. All items are to be delivered to the Community Center on Saturday, March 30 between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Exhibitor tags will be provided to identify

the exhibitor and provide an explanation of the item. We appreciate your help in making

this a memorable event
