Charleston home prices fall in August 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in August 2017 in Charleston fell by $6,731.50 while total sales increased by 6.9%, according to BlockShopper.com.

In August 2017, there were 31 homes sold, with a median sale price of $117,500 - a 5.4% decrease over the $124,231.50 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 29 homes sold in Charleston in August 2016.

The median sales tax in Charleston for 2017 was $2,101.09. In 2016, the median sales tax was $2,134.90. This marks an decrease of 1.6%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 1.8%.
