Report: Altamont spent $10,014 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Altamont Community Unit School District 10 is up 9 percent from five years ago, according to a East Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Effingham County school district spent $9,186 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $10,014 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 781 to 647.

Altamont's spending in 2017-18 was 24.9 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
