Report: Flora spent $8,185 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Flora Community Unit School District 35 is down 2.1 percent from five years ago, according to a East Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Clay County school district spent $8,363 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $8,185 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 1373 to 1394.

Flora's spending in 2017-18 was 38.6 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
