City of Newton issued the following announcement on Nov. 27.
We are collecting items for local people in need of warmth this winter. We will accept the following items that are clean and in good condition:
Blankets
Coats
Hats
Gloves
Scarves
Socks
Other outerwear (overalls, snow pants)
Boots
Thermos
Hand warmers
Space heaters in working order
Please consider giving this season and help your neighbors meet their basic needs.
Collection will take place on this date only. Please plan accordingly. Thank you!
