City of Effingham issued the following announcement on Sept. 28.
Stated Mayor Bloemker, "We'll typically have a nice dinner with Farnsworth Engineering during the course of the conference. A tradition has been established in that Commissioner Merv Gillenwater and wife, Pat, and Farnsworth Principal Steve Myers like to walk home from the restaurant (over 10 city blocks). Any leftovers from our group meal are packaged and handed out to the homeless by these adventuresome chaps. Well done!"
