Altamont Community Unit School District 10 students suspended 7 times in a single school year

Altamont Community Unit School District 10 reported seven suspensions for 2016-17, according to the latest student discipline report by the Illinois State Board of Education.

According to the report, the district expelled or suspended 7 students during the year. That equates to 1 percent of the 711 students enrolled.

The district reported that most out-of-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes three incidents. There were two incidents of violence without physical injury. For four incidents, students were suspended for 3-5 days.
